Chronology: Capital Region JUNO Awards Bid
- Feb 09 – Canadian Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) announce Toronto will host 2011 JUNO Awards
- Apr 09 – MUSIC BC hosts Juno Awards in Vancouver
- May 09 – Report estimates Vancouver JUNOs generated $10-15 million in economic activity for region
- Jun 09 – Province of Newfoundland confirms plan to contribute $750,000 to help St. John’s organizing committee host 2010 JUNOs
- Jul 09 – Victoria City Councillor Chris Coleman initiated preliminary discussions with business and community leaders
- Aug 09 – Provincial Capital Commission (PCC) and Downtown Victoria Business Association (DVBA) endorse idea of Capital Region JUNO bid
- Sep 09 – PCC and DVBA invites MUSIC BC to meet with local stakeholders, review opportunity and make recommendation to bid – or not to bid
- Oct 09 – MUSIC BC consultation begins
- Nov 09 – Stakeholder Meetings
- Jan 10 – Comprehensive public on-line survey released
- Mar 10 – MUSIC BC consultation concludes
- Apr 10 – Government of Canada confirms $500,000 contribution to St. John’s Newfoundland 2010 JUNO organizing committee through the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA)
- May 10 – Newfoundland government estimates $20 million economic benefit from 2010 ST. John's JUNO Awards
- June 10 – MUSIC BC report submitted to PCC and DVBA recommending Greater Victoria should pursue a bid for JUNO Awards as early as 2013
- Jul 10 – Regina submits bid to CARAS for 2013 JUNO Awards
- Aug 10 – PCC and DVBA release MUSIC BC report which
- Sep 10 – PCC and DVBA accept recommendations and confirm their plans raise funds and establish a local Society to lead bid
- Oct 10 – Globe and Mail newspaper reports CARAS is likely to award Montreal 2012 JUNO Awards for first time
- Nov 10 – Capital Region Music Awards Society established to prepare 2013 Greater Victoria JUNO bid. Letter of intent sent to CARAS and BC government invited to pledge their support
- Dec 10 – Capital Region Music Awards Society officially launched
- April 11 - 2014 bid confirmed instead of 2013
- Oct 11 - 2014 bid package received from CARAS
- Feb 12 - Provincial sponsorship request submitted
